Kris Allen joined hundreds of volunteers in Memphis for the Habitat for Humanity Carter Work Project 2016. The project involved building new houses, repairing houses for older homeowners, community improvements, and raising awareness on the topic of affordable housing. Read more about the project here.

A veteran of many service projects, Kris dove in and got to work. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution posted a nice writeup of the day and the local Habitat chapter posted the below photo complimenting Kris's construction skills.

Kris was inspired by President Carter and all of the dedicated folks working hard to contribute to the Memphis community, and is excited to return to this special place in October for the Moon River Music Festival.
