I'm a fan (and you should be too) because of you. I am sorry Kris but I have to say that I was a fan of yours on Idol but I am even more so now that I know who you are and what you can be. I could not help but lose myself the other day when I was on youtube and I came across this video of you running and hugging this very lovely guy named Adam Lambert. It took me by surprise because the only other time that I had ever seen anyone hold someone like that was in a movie starring Ben Affleck. Kris, it was amazing the way you allowed all those feelings and emotions go so you could say what it was you were really feeling. I cannot help but remember how you just grabbed him with all your might and power. It's like you wanted and you needed to say thank you for giving me strength, thank you for guiding me, and thank you for showing me your LOVE. You had so much respect for him when you held him. Your actions absolutely killed me and you know, I don't know anything as beautiful as your gratitude that day you won. So, I have to say this is one reason why I am a fan because you knew that without this person that something that you needed before wouldn't have been there.
In addition to loving your gratitude, I am also a fan because you are an hardworker. You work very hard at what you do. For example, when you sang Micheal Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" you had a very quiet demeanor and I really didn't know what to think at first, but when stepped out on that stage with the microphone in your hand, I knew something was going to happen to you like you were going to be the Idol. Yes, you made it happen! And, when Simon annouced to you that you seemed to be forgettable, you did not respond. You did not give in. You worked at it and you made a way for yourself. You worked to be in the hearts and minds of your fans, and this hard work is very valuable and something that I admire in someone like yourself. It tells me that you want to do what you love and that you want to work hard to share what it is that you love. This hard work makes me want to be your fan.
Not only are you an hard worker but you are also so warm and sincere, two of my favorite qualities in a recording artist. It's so odd that you make your own feelings cold. When I saw how happy you were that night when they announced that you had won, I could not help but cry because you didn't show it but I knew that you worked to tears to get through that competition. I knew you wanted it deep inside. And then when you ran and hugged Adam Lambert with all the love and joy that you had inside after that night you won Idol, I just couldn't help but love you. I knew that there was something special. I knew I would be a fan. And then when you put your arms around your wife and I saw the way you loved her, I knew that I had to be a fan because you would also love the music as much as you love her.
So, Chris, I am a fan because you are an Idol. Your voice is warm, your heart is sweet, and your soul is humble. You talk quietly but you sing loud. Each note is always soft and never defensive. You work to be what you want and when you sing you speak from your soul and I am able to see who you are, someone who I might hope to be. So, Kris, tell me why shouldn't I be a fan, your fan?
congratualtions, Kris..you just keep getting better and better..
