I never thought I'd get very much hooked to this season's American Idol since I got loads of stuff to do (Like hey, I thought I'd just watch TV for entertainment.) I watched this season as a continuum of the previous and never really became a serious follower of it until the Top 36.
Saw Kris Allen during the second day for the Top 36. Thought, "He should get in for eye candy factor." Loved his song choice, though I cannot say much about his performance (Maybe also because they've got loads of talented contestants in the batch.) Got excited when during the next day, he was announce included in the Top 12 (Which eventually became Top 13, as we all know)
Noticed several contestants in the beginning of the real competition (AKA Top 13) I watched out for Kris because I want to see what he's got. When he guitar-ed Remember the Time, I thought, "I would watch out for this man!" Yes, he's got potential.
My instinct served me right that this man knows what he's doing and knows he wanted this thing during the second week. I told myself, "He's got what it takes to win." I look back on that second week where he made ballad a country because that's the time when I believed he will win!
Lastly, I thought I'd admire the man superficially (Hey! He's got good looks as well!) but no, he made me (and I'm sure a lot of people) look beyond his boyish charms and charming grin. He's got wise song choices and song arrangements, a pleasant personality, and a humble spirit. I never remembered that he answered back arrogantly on the judges when they make a bad comment on his performances but instead, uses the criticisms to his advantage and proceeds to the following week with an exemplary performance.
I still have a lot to say about Kris. Most of them were kept in my blog (http://karixie.wordpress.com) and I will still have a lot more to say in the future as I follow his journey as an artist. I hope he inspires more people, not only with his music but with his life and the story that he continues to create.
Well, I don't know Kris personally but he made me believe that I can make a right choice. Haha!
