The Album/Single Sales Tracker Thread!
I think keeping up with Kris' Album/single sales is pretty important in helping us know how he's generally doing in the music industry. This thread will be where we discuss his sales and our general opinions on what that means. I will update this weekly based on how many sales he has. Now of course these weekly sale numbers will not always be sunshine and daises, but that applies to every artist...

January-March are pretty slow months, so Album sales won't be that high for now. Nobody needs to be worried...this is pretty normal for all artists until they release a new single. Let's just be happy with "Live Like We're Dying" being Platinum for now!

I updated the thread with this week's Album/single sales...he did pretty well, but should do better once his second single is out. We're going to know what it is around next week or something if Kris was being serious when he said it at the Dream House! I'm so excited!

UPDATE: Sorry this was a little late.
LLWD Sales: Week 25: 53,000 (-8%, 1.110 million total)
Album Sales: Week 16: 4,000 (-40%, 283,000 total)
Kris did really great this week regarding his single sales...LLWD is already on its way to 1.5 mil! However, I'm going to guess that his single sales are going to drop from now on because the song has most likely just peaked on the radio recently. So nobody should worry if we have less than 50k sales from now on. This just indicates that it's time for a new single! His Album sales weren't that great this week either, but I think it's because it's not on sale anymore. Hopefully once the next single gets released in the next few weeks we will get 5k-10k weekly Album sales!

OMG LLWD IS OFFICIALLY PLATINUM! I don't even have words...wow, I'm just so proud of Kris and how far he's come! I've said this before, but it really is the first of many.

LLWD Sales: Week 24: 57,000 (-10%, 1.057 million total)
Album Sales: Week 15: 6,000 (-10%, 278,000 total)
So LLWD is OFFICIALLY PLATINUM! How amazing is that?! I'm so proud of Kris! His Album sales were pretty good this week...it didn't drop by much. I can't wait until it reaches Gold in a few months!
Haha it's funny how close LLWD is to platinum...it's probably over the 1 million mark already though as I type! So proud.
OHHH so CLOSE! for Platinum! Does anyone know the actual numbers since these are rounded to the nearest thousand?

Please tell all your friends to download Let It Be since the funds go to Haiti through 3/25/10. I can't stop listening to it. It is so AWESOME and emotional!!!

"Let It Be" Charity Single Sales: 46,000 total.
Kris did really great this week...I'm so proud! LLWD was DEAD CLOSE to Platinum, only off by a few hundreds, but it will be next week. So we can look forward to celebrating its 1 Million sale millstone really soon! His Album got a pretty good bump as well, which made up for last week's really low sales!
See what happened after "Let It Be" : LLWD at iTunes jump back up to #15 or 16, the album jumps from #98 to 22, then 15 the next day, then *8*, and today settles at 11!
That's totally INSANE!
I'm totally convinced that next week the album has finally broken the sales barrier.

Album Sales: Week 13: 4,000 (-31%, 265,000 total)
Kris' Single, LLWD is having consistant sales, and will most likely go platinum next week or the next for sure! We should be really proud of how well it's doing. However, I can't say the same about his Album, even though most of us know the material on it is so much better than LLWD. His Album sales this week are lowest yet, only 4000...which I hope change soon once his second single is released around the next month or so.
Overall, I think we should just be happy with LLWD going Platinum soon, and worry about the rest later!

He's done pretty well this week. Less than 200k single sales left until LLWD reaches Platinum! Most of us think he'll reach that point by the middle of March or the beginning of April if his sales really decrease. He just needs FOUR more weeks of consistant single sales (50k+) to reach Platinum!
I'm so proud of Kris! LLWD has been consistently rising in the charts and it's so awesome to see that!

Album Sales: 5,000 (-7%, 250,000 total)
Not bad! Kris' Album is half way to Gold...he just needs 250k more sales to finally reach Gold, and 250k more single sales for LLWD to reach Platinum! I think he's doing fairly well, and we're hoping he'll have better Album sales this week because of the price drop.

That's pretty good, I just wish his Album would sell a little more.
Although, I understand it's a slow month, but it would be really lovely if people who bought his single could maybe also look into his Album. Oh well, I guess the second single would get more people curious about his Album. So I still have hope this Album can reach Platinum...we're pretty much half way to Gold right now.
By the way; Kris broke into the top 20 in the Soundscan Digital Sales charts!

LLWD Sales - Week 17: 69,155 (+7%, 620,062 total)
Album sale - Week 9: 6,000 (+13 percent, 240,000)
Both his Single and Album sales increased from last week!
LLWD is definitely doing amazing, and will hopefully go platinum around two months if things go as planned!
It's just the lull we were warned about, nothing more and really nothing to get distressed about. We've all been watching Kris' album shoot up the iTunes chart all day and tonight so it's on the rise again already
It's cool, especially with the extra AI exposure Kris is getting right now, something's doing the trick!
So I'm sort of going to bring down the party with this news...his Album sales this week:
Kris Allen (5,000, -37 percent, 233,000 total)
Nobody start worrying...this sale decrease is pretty normal around this month, so we shouldn't expect 10k+ sales for a few weeks. However, the fact that American Idol has started again might result in a better Album sale number next week, so we can look forward to that at least. Also his second single will probably be out next month or after, and that might do his Album sales wonders if the song becomes a hit.
Oh and I'm totally #TeamAWM for second Single (Kris is on my team too hahaa...I knew he was a smart little ninja)...I'm also partially #TeamBWCU if I can't have my way. Hopefully, Jive thinks this through. I personally think "Alright With Me" has potential hit written all over it! It has everything it needs to be a hit (Catchy, fun, doesn't have a low burn rate, and it gets stuck in the head very easily!). Oh and it was the 9th most popular track bought alone from Kris' Album a few weeks ago, but after that Ford commercial, it has become 3rd...that says a lot. If a small 5 second snippet had people interested in buying it, then I see a pretty awesome future for it! I'm honestly hoping Jive makes the right choice, and for Kris to push for "Alright With Me". The second single can basically make him or break him, so if the wrong song is chosen, forget Kris ever going Platinum in a year. Yeah, I've thought long and hard about this hahaa...what is my life!

Awesome news on the single. I have to agree with the thought that the album sales will come back up with the release of his next single. I personally think it should be Cant Stay Away. I think that would boost sales from a whole other range of fans

I am so proud of Kris! Both his single and his album are doing so great. As Jim Cantiello said yesterday, Kris's album "has legs". It is going to keep selling for quite awhile.
Also, since it looks like LLWD is going gold tomorrow, people on twitter are thinking of trending #krisallenLLWDgold
I just looked at Billboard, the week of 1/16, and Kris is at #91. I'm afraid his record label will drop him.

@kratti you're right. kris may not have a high range as others do, but he has a mesmerizing voice especially when he sings ballads. makes you want to melt.

Gotta disagree with you there. I think Kris is an AMAZING vocalist. If by "range" you mean that he doesn't hit very very high notes, I'll give you that, but his vocals are awesome. His voice is beautiful, and his phrasing and emotion is moving. I just listened again to his Falling Slowly, and To Make You Feel My Love that he did on Idol. I can't imagine anyone listening to either of those and not thinking he's a great vocalist. You don't have to do something flashy or over the top to be great.
I'm happy for Kris. His vocals are ok on LLWD. He doesn't seem to have much range. I think his next album should be country. Kris seems like a nice guy and I wish him well, but he is not a great vocalist.
