A Life Well Lived

*Note: My twin sister is entering with the same nominee. It is not two entries by the same person.

I have nominated my mom for this essay because out of the people in my life I think she lives her life to the fullest in many ways. Kris Allen’s song “Live Like We’re Dying” is about living life to the fullest and not having any regrets “in your time of dying”. My mom has pretty much accomplished this through her actions and accomplishments, and her love for her family, friends, and the ones in her care. She has made many memories with the ones she loves and has made a very deep impact on her children, family, and friends.
Her actions and accomplishments reflect on all her family. Graduating from College was just one of the many dreams which she has managed to accomplish. She has also pursued writing, one of her many hobbies done for and inspired by children. She also of course has a mind for traveling around the world. She has been to Australia, Europe, Hawaii, and several other places around the globe. She loves planting and gardens. After graduating college she taught for 10 years. Once she had kids, she moved out into the country to have a hobby farm. Along with the larger accomplishments she has little characteristics which too stand out in her life. People forget that little things such as saying “I love you” can have such an impact on a person. Thankfully my mom hasn’t. She is a person full of energy for herself and the many people around her. When I think of people with regrets she is definitely not one of them. She puts everything she has into her life. She is not the person who fulfills life by maxing out her credit cards but by helping those in need.
Besides things intended for her individually, she always has time for the people around her. My mom is not the person to forget about her family. She is home schooling us all as to give us the best education possible, and to show us what things are important in life. Ever since a young age she has wanted to help children in and out of the country. As an adult she fostered for ten years. She has adopted all six of her kids including me, out of foster care, giving us a life we would never have had. She is currently sponsoring nine children in other countries. She is hoping to take visit them one day so we can meet them and study where they live. She makes sure we can try, see, and learn new things. Her priorities are her family, friends and those she sponsors. Along with people she makes sure to help animals. Almost all our animals are rescues.
I know she has made many memories and has left deep imprints in many hearts, and in many places.
