A Note About "The Truth" Video Premiere

Hey Kris fans, just wanted to give you the heads up that the official video for "The Truth" will be making its broadcast debut TOMORROW on VH1. After you catch it on TV tomorrow, stay tuned right here to learn more about the online premiere of the video, going live on 8.18.10.

From what I got of the first viewing: Kris and Pat M. are a couple and they break up because one of them can't stop thinking about a girl (played mostly in silhouette by Cindy Vela). This would make a relationship difficult, yes.
More thoughts, post-2nd viewing: Yeah, it starts with Kris on a bed and he's tripping (maybe on magic mushrooms) and he can't get this girl out of his head. But he feels guilty because of his boyfriend (as played by Pat). But, in the end, even Pat agrees that the relationship is over and if Kris needs to explore his sexuality with Cindy, then he should do that, rip the bandaid off, and stop breaking Pat's heart.
Kris and Pat lying in bed wishing that they both disappeared. Pat falls asleep. Kris sneaks out of bed and goes outside where he gets struck by lightning and becomes a superhero by the name Kris-Idol. His superpowers include ability to fly off the pianos, setting things that he touches on fire including chandeliers and old books, and not needing a shower even after a day in a desert in a blazer in over 100 degrees heat. Then he gets to save damsel in distress Cindy, who lost her high heel shoes in a quick sand. Then Pat wakes up ... Party's over...

Oh, Kris will be fine. It's just annoying that he has to work to overcome his team's poor management in addition to everything else, but I think he's talented and dedicated enough to his craft that he'll do great in the long run.

WIll it debut online here or on AOL or MTV? I still cringe over how long it took for Kris' AOL Sessions to show up. So long that he sang a Christmas song and Christmas was loooong over.
I was hoping for today since that's what was being put forth. I'm moving, so there is a good chance I won't have either TV or Internet to see it. :::sigh:::

For a more serious answer... the references both to Dali and to the video being 'literally' hot make me wonder if there's melting going on, as one of his most famous pieces has a lot of things (like time) melting in the desert.
Cindy has said that she's the only woman in the video - there are at least two guys (Pat and Kris). It could be that one of them is real and one is just a dream. Jim implied that Pat's presence is just as intrusive in the video as it is in the 'duet' and I'm going to believe that it's an intentional moment of visual dissonance that Kris wanted to use to show how wrong it was to slap Pat's voice into the song the way that y'all did.
Kris has said that he and Cindy do not make out in the video. This is a shame, as she is gorgeous and around his height and they would probably have looked hot together, but hopefully other cool stuff happens instead. It doesn't sound like a literal video, but rather one that works on the level of metaphor and symbolism - we have chandeliers and mirrors in the desert and a rainstorm. There's falling - this could work well with the vibe of the song.
Kris did say that he was involved in the editing himself, so I look forward to seeing how it was cut.
I also want to say that I've found your entire treatment of "The Truth" from beginning to end to be very shoddy. The song did not need Pat shoved in on the bridge (you may have noticed that the album version is selling much better than the version that you mutilated to put Pat on). The video should have been shot earlier. Having Kris's main soundbite for the song being about how he can't relate to it is stupid - even if he's never had a relationship in danger (I find this unlikely, considering the existence of BWCU, IIO, BIB), he could do what Adam does and universalize the song to make it relatable to himself in a wider and less personal sense. And the promotion has been lacking on all regards when it comes to Kris, often happening too late or with the incorrect information.
Shoddy, poor work on your parts as Kris's management.
You just have to love Kris's fans' sense of humour. Really, management people, that sense of humour is all that we survive on.
Kris goes to the desert. He opens the chest and finds a woman (Cindy) inside it. Obviously terrified, Kris drags the chest as far away as possible, then runs into the arms of the first man he can find (Pat Monahan of Train). They lie down together on a bed. There is gay sex. When Kris wakes up, Pat is gone. Kris searches for him in a maze of chandeliers. Distraught, Kris jumps on top of a piano and falls off.

Kris opens up the treasure chest and finds new management inside. They actually promote him in a sane and timely fashion and attempt to reach out to people who aren't already his fans.
What is going to happen in the video is what everyone has said so far mixed into one because I am not that good to predict the concept. I LOVE what everyone else has said though great job people!!

Hopefully you guys (whoever is running this site) actually read the comments, cause at this point I just wish that somebody would explain what is going on.
Obviously, it would never happen, but just know that a lot of fans are just incredibly confused by the whole TT situation, which started in the spring.

Kris is burning the diary of Cindy describing in lurid detail her ellicit love affair with Pat M. Kris is distraught and commits sucide by jumping off the piano but luckily lands on the back of a heroic elephant and proudly displays Pat M pierced by it's ivory husks.

Kris traps Pat in a treasure chest and leaves him in the desert. He then falls asleep happily thinking he's finally gotten rid of the nightmare that is "The Truth". And Cindy just stands there looking pretty.

Maybe it's Cindy's dream. She's married to Kris Allen, and life is good. Then she wakes up and realizes that she's really married to Pat. Poor Cindy.
I bet it's all a dream, therefore I'm gonna assume the whole video is nothing but an homage to Newhart.

I'm pretty sure Kris will see a reflection of Pat swinging by a chandelier in a giant mirror, at which point he'll turn and hurl the magical orb, hitting Pat & turning him into an elephant, causing Kris to realize it was all a dream.

Scooter I think you are spot on, but you can't forget about the nap he takes after all that running. It's a nice quiet moment that gives the video more meaning.
It looks like Kris participates in a book burning rally, gets stranded in the desert, tries to commit suicide via falling off his piano when the dehydration becomes too much, then a tornado comes and drops a trunk down and Kris opens it and Pat pops out to sing his bridge, and then Kris takes a nap on the bed. END SCENE.
