OK lets face it Jive. The Truth is dead in the water. Jive royally screwed this up.
1. they waited wayyy too long to release a 2nd single
2. They chose The Truth. Sorry but definitely not a very radio friendly song. There are much better songs on the album that Kris had a hand in writing on.
3. They put Pat on the song. I think they really thought this was a good idea but as the fans tried to tell them and they chose to ignore us, this wasnt a good idea. It has done nothing to help this song. It doesnt even sound good. Nobody knew Pat. They knew Train.
4. I know kris had a very busy schedule after the song was released, but they waited wayyy too long to release the music video. They probably wouda been better off not even doing a video for this song at that point. It was pretty much money wasted that coulda gone towards single #3.

I really hope Jive doesnt screw this up this time.Please dont wait another 6 months to put out single #3. That was ridiculous to wait that long last time. Just crazy if you ask me. Lets see if we can get this right this time Jive. Get single #3 out there in time for the tour next month. I was team Alright with Me before but now Im too the point I really dont care. Just get another song out there and quick before its too late. Either that or hurry up and I mean HURRY UP and get out another album. Altho I believe a 3rd single would be best. It was Jives fault that the 2nd single went down the way it did. They need to come correct. Its certainly not Kris' fault. He sings the song beautifully. I hate how this whole thing went down. Its sooo aggravating. Jive you shoulda listened to the fans. Now get either Alright with me, Cant Stay Away, or Before we Come Undone out as a next single within the month and you will have a lot of happy Kris fans.

So guess what Jive? "The Truth" has officially flopped. It has lost it's bullet on HAC radio recently. It started losing spins on top 40 stations a long time ago as well. The peaks for the song are #17 on HAC and #52 on CHR. The sales of the single have also been extremely poor. The video came out way too late to help the song in any way. Your handling of this whole second single has been pitiful. The fans pleaded for either Before We Come Undone or Alright With Me to be chosen, and in spite of their strong disapproval of choosing this song and adding Pat M. to the song, you went ahead with your plans anyway. Why did you bother to ask for feedback if you were just going to ignore it? You know what's funny, though? Kris's album version of the song has been selling better than the single version featuring Pat. That's kind of ironic since not so long ago you purported on this site that "adding Pat to the song has made the track even better". Guess it wasn't just the Kris fans who didn't like the concept of the duet and found it awkward. Turns out the American public agreed as well. Go figure.

Nevertheless, what's done is done. The question still exists; however, who is to blame for all of this? Common sense would say the people behind this single choice are, but common seems seems to escape some of the people managing Kris's career so let me break it down for you. The record label is to blame for this failure of a single, not Kris. Yes, there consequences of a flopped single, and it usually leads to no more additional singles from that album being released, but it's only fair to the artist and his fans that they at least get the opportunity to see a song of their choice as a single. The fans wanted Before We Come Undone or Alright With Me as singles. The artist has said on several occasions they he wants Alright With Me as a single. Maybe you can actually listen to someone other than yourselves this time? Thanks.

Congratulations Kris on the video - very artistic and you looked and sounded great. Loved all the symbolism - not sure I interpreted it all correctly but that's the challenge and the fun, isn't it? Kind of mini 'Inception!' Liked the fact your MV is artistically different to some extremely good MVs going around at moment. Don't know what the fuss is over Pat Monahan being in it - everyone seems to be duetting/feature artisting these days - Gaga/Beyonce, Usher/WillIam, Eminem/Rianna, Travie/Bruno etc etc. Saw Pat and Train in Sydney recently and they were brilliant and Pat seems like a top bloke. Okay, so I prefer your solo version because you sound awesome and you can stand alone as an artist but Pat in the video made thematic sense to me and offered some visual flexibility! Must say I did a double take a couple of times - he looked a bit more robust in certain shots than I remember him? You too for that matter - but the camera can do that I've heard. Loved the final shot. Looking forward to you coming to Sydney one day soon! I'd love to catch you and your band singing all your songs in USA when I'm there mid November - please post any concert dates as soon as you have any. Can't wait for the next album. I love this video! A literal interpretation would be too cheesy. With all the symbolism, it's up to the individual to make his/her own interpretation.

I love the video also!!! Great work...it is so much better than most of the videos out there...even the top 20 on VH1. I was amazed at how pitiful some of them were. Love everyone's comments on the symbolism...Kris looks amazing and sounds great...especially love the chandeliers at the end...love Kris' outfit there and love the performance parts (both piano and guitar) of the video with Kris in it. I wish he was never in the shadows because he is so gorgeous...but I understand that the video looks great that way too! When can we buy it on itunes????

Epic video. It is hauntingly beautiful - classy, too. I love all of the imagery - from Kris "trying to be perfect" (wearing a "tux" in the desert), lone image pulling the trunk full of broken dreams, the homage to "Man in the Mirror," the falling piano keys (dismantling of his life piece by piece, feeling like he's drowning), singing into the microphone in the desert (keeping up appearances even though there is no purpose in it), standing on the trunk in silhouette (standing on his past life, looking around, not knowing what the future holds) running past the door (trying hard but still on the outside), ... I could go on and on. Every time I watch it I find something else. Can't wait until I can own a copy for myself. Get it to iTunes, quickly!!

First of all, I love the MV. I am an avid fan of Kris and watched the MV multiple times. It is awesome.

However, this is the 21st century and fans are of younger generations. it is so sad that these younger generations does not appreciate what a great video is all about. So for younger generations, the symbolism in the MV does not mean anything to them.

Kris has to rethink his audience, his clientele, and needs to focus on what MV he needs to produce next time.
This is really sad in America these days!

I love the concept and I love Kris in it, but I still don't get Pat Monahan of Train in it. He makes no sense in the video and his part still ruins the emotion of the song for me. The lyrics are so painful that to dilute them with two voices should be a sin. I'll still vote for it on VH1 because it's Kris, though.
