The Rooftop Sessions have returned! Kris Allen treats fans to a heartfelt acoustic rendition of Feeling This Way, a popular track from his latest album, in this video recorded on the breezy upper deck at his home in Nashville. 

Allen has a way of assembling simple songs that pack an emotional punch. He's a singer/songwriter if there ever was one, and he never apologizes for that fact. His music is defiantly uncomplicated but with his expert phrasing, he can drive a thousand nails into concrete. His explorations with rhythm, too, are riveting.

The American Idol season 8 winner and his wife Katy welcomed their second child, a girl, on Saturday, June 18, at 4:15 p.m., a rep for Allen confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.
Rose Elizabeth Allen — whom the couple will call “Rosie” — was born in Nashville, Tennessee.
